Parkland Walk - railway path and platforms in Crouch End.
Highgate tunnels.
The Parkland Walk: along the path of a disused railway from Highgate to Finsbury Park. London, May 6.
and two more.
an addendum to the visit to the old “trammino” from Pisa to Livorno: the old train station in Pisa Sant’Antonio is only partly standing and has been turned into a bus terminal. where the old ticket office used to be, a plywood panel covers the notices counter.
a little story in itself is in the second picture (detail from the first one). have you ever noticed, mainly around the stations in Italy, the presence of homeless? crazy? religious? (I really don’t know what’s going on there) women going around scribbling notes or graffiti-ing walls in perfect rhyme? I know of one called Melina Riccio, who is also the subject of a documentary (Italian only), but this is not her handwriting.
this star-shaped poem goes something like:
“Partying Honest Head
You’re a Star As Well
If You Love Everyone More
You’ll Be Born Again In Christ
And Mother Nature
Let’s Grow Roots
Let’s Share Everything
As Good Friends
We’ll Be Eternally Happy”
a pencil scribble also notes “governments are a rip-off without religion(s)”.
